Microsoft has released the pre-beta version of Windows 8. Those of you interested in taking the current
flavor of Windows 8 for a spin can now download and install the Developer Preview edition.
Windows 8 is a major overhaul to Microsoft’s PC operating system. It’s designed with touchscreens in mind, launching into a Metro-style user interface with touch-friendly apps, but it also accommodates standard input devices. Thetraditional Windows desktopis represented as an app within the broader Windows 8 interface, and the previewbuild already supports Windows 7 applications.
